2021 Grant Application Process & Deadlines

  • Grant awards may be up to $3,000 per school

  • Applicant project and funding needs must be consistent with KMC’s mission and the above-noted current funding cycle focus

  • Requests for additional information and clarification must be made via e-mail to grants@kidsmanagingconflict.org

  • Grant Applications are open for submission on April 1, 2021, and due by 11:59 PM PDT on May 31, 2021

  • Successful applicants will be notified of the award by June 15, 2021

  • Grant fund distribution will be during the week of September 7, 2021

  • Grant implementation period is during the 2021-2022 School Year

  • End-Of-Grant Report Due by June 30, 2022

Eligibility and Limitations 

  • KMC awards grant funds to schools.

  • KMC’s 2021-2022 Grant Funding cycle focus is to start or improve peer mediation training for middle and high schools.

  • KMC does not fund the purchase, creation, or distribution of materials that lobby for legislation or influence public elections.

  • School sites wanting to establish new peer mediation programs are encouraged to apply.

  • This is a competitive grant process. 

  • KMC will fund only well-qualified and clearly defined proposed programs, which may represent only a fraction of the grant programs request.

  • Applications will only be accepted directly from educational institutions.

  • Successful grant recipients must agree to participate in surveys before, during, and after peer mediation training to provide data back to KMC.

  • Successful grant recipients will visit the KMC Community website and design a school year program that includes peer mediation training and meets the peer mediation needs of their school site.

2021 Grant Goals

In 2021, KMC will fund school programs:

  • To train students in peer mediation. (in-person/virtual)

  • To increase respect for others through processes of communication and other peer mediation techniques.

  • To mediate disagreements among students to an agreeable resolution.

  • To improve student's self-awareness and self-regulation through communication.

  • To enrich student’s lives through mediation practices as they move toward adulthood.

2021 Grant Objectives

In 2021, ​KMC will

  • Provide school grant funds to schools that best meet the goals of KMC.

  • Provide resources to assist in training students through the KMC online private community dedicated to students, teachers, and administrators- https://community:kidsmanagingconflict.org/

  • Appoint a KMC Board member as a consultant to assist with questions and resources.
