Areas of Interest Eligible for Grant Funding:

Kids Managing Conflict (KMC) currently supports the education and training of youth mediators through activities consistent with the values of mediation, including mutual respect, inclusivity, and tolerance.  KMC’s primary interest in 2019 funding requests are new start-up programs, though KMC will consider funding requests for existing school programs.

Eligibility and Limitations 

  • KMC awards grant funds to tax-exempt schools.

  • KMC’s 2020-2021 Grant Funding cycle focus is to support peer mediation programs in the Southern California area elementary, middle, and high schools.

  • KMC does not fund the purchase, creation, or distribution of materials which lobby for legislation or influence public elections.

  • Grant estimate of amount needed to implement the proposed program or activity, as specified in the submitted Budget.

  • School sites wanting to establish new peer mediation programs are encouraged to apply.

  • This is a competitive grant process. 

  • KMC will fund only well-qualified and clearly defined proposed programs, which may represent only a fraction of the grant programs request.

  • Applications will only be accepted directly from educational institutions.

Grant Application Process & Deadlines

  • Applicant project and funding needs must be consistent with KMC’s mission and the above-noted current funding cycle focus.

  • Requests for additional information and clarification must be made via e-mail to, and completed by February 15, 2020.

  • Application submission is by e-mail only to and are due no later than 11:59pm on March 15, 2020.

  • Successful applicants will be notified of award prior to May 31, 2020.

  • Grant fund distribution will be on or before September 16, 2020.
