Awards Presented By Kids Managing Conflict - SCMA EF

6th Annual Celebration of Peer Mediation Event

Each year, Kids Managing Conflict honors high school mediators for best practices in Peer Mediation.  This recognition is given at a celebratory dinner with all high school peer mediation program participants.

2018 Recipient - Uni High School

Southern California Mediation Association Foundation's Directors' Award 

The SCMA Education Foundation’s Directors’ Award was established in 2014 to recognize the contributions of educators to mediator education and training, as well as their contributions to international peacebuilding by working with students all over the world. The recipients of the award are among the leaders in mediation education. It has been the Foundation’s privilege to call attention to these educators by presenting this annual award.

2017 Recipient - Marco Turk 

Professor Turk is Emeritus Professor and Director of the Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding program at CSU Dominguez Hills and an adjunct professor of law at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law. He has a long history in California Alternative Dispute Resolution with several awards acknowledging his service to the field and is recognized internationally for his work as a peacebuilder, educator and trainer dealing with ethnic conflict.

Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center's Annual Conversity Awards

The Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center recognizes outstanding educational leadership in the field of mediation each year.  

2018 Recipient - Maria Simpson PhD

Maria Simpson was presented to the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center's annual Conversity Awards at a reception in Little Tokyo.  Maria was honored for her dedication to improving Los Angeles through her leadership and commitment to diversity.
